    Import tax on Avocados

    Post  Ladyelaine on Thu 26 Jan 2017 - 17:16

To those who want to complain about an import tax on avocados from Mexico- buy homegrown Florida, California, or other USA locale fruits & vegetables from local farmers markets, if your grocer doesn't have them. I just bought 2 huge beautiful glossy green Florida avocadoes for $1.90 each. The much smaller dark color Mexican (Mission brand)ones were 2/$3.00. If enough customers choose not to buy imports when homegrown is available, it sure would help farmers in the U.S.A. and contribute to making America great again. Avocado seeds are very easy to sprout but not cold hardy and might require a greenhouse or an indoor grow light to thrive.
