Watching a vid or a music cd

    Post  Psycho144 on Tue Dec 06, 2016 1:19 pm

I very seldom use my dvd drive. With Win 10 I tried to play a vid cd and couldn't get it to work. A pop up came up for to add a app. I don't use apps and I think it wanted me to purchase it Pfthtttt.
Used to I could just put in a disk and I could open and run in the media player or other.
I got it to run by shutting down and putting my thumb drive in and booting to Mint 64bit.
Reinserted the disk and played on the media installed, easy and no problem.

Just a lot to go through to play a disk.

It may have simply wanted you to install codecs or something to do with the media player to make it work. That might be free. You can follow it up to the point where they ask for money, and if they don't you're good to go.

But I can't say with certainty what's going on. That's my best guess. I only use Windows to update my GPS maps and root Android devices. For that I use 7. Never touched 10, never want to.
