    Remember the Iranian hostage crisis?

If you do you may recall that just as Reagan was getting inaugurated, Iran let everybody go.

Why? They assumed (rightly) that they'd be blown to smithereens if they insisted on testing Reagan's commitment to bring an end to the situation, and an end to Iran along with it if necessary.

Well, this isn't even waiting for inauguration:

More Winning – Ford CEO Calls Donald Trump: Lincoln Plant Will Stay in Kentucky…

There's a lot of back story there about an interview in which Ford weasled around to avoid committing to much of anything. But in the end he knew what a Trump win would mean. So he made the right decision.

    And maybe you remember this:

Why the United States Will Never, Ever Build the iPhone

It lays out a lot of reasons and arguments about why it can't be done.

But on November 14, there's this:

Apple iPad manufacturer Foxconn 'plans US factories'

Granted, it doesn't specifically mention iPhones, or even promise iPads. But that step can't be too far behind.

Why is this happening? Well, they assume (probably rightly) that it wouldn't be wise to test Trump's commitment to strengthening the American economy and building the workforce, and maybe taking their businesses down along with it if necessary.

In the case of Foxconn, Apple asked them and another company about plans to manufacture in the US. The other company declined to answer, but Foxconn gave them plans.

You see, it's not about suicides in China. There are millions and millions of people to replace them with. (The company is based in Taiwan, but it has a lot of factories on mainland China.) It's about staying in business by selling products in a market that can keep them alive.
