So far, so good: President Trump signed more bills into law than his four predecessors: report

House Speaker Paul Ryan and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy have issued a very promising report about President Trump so far in his presidency. Compared to his immediate predecessors, Mr. Trump is forging ahead in his bid to better the nation and move forward.

“To date, President Trump has signed 37 bills into law, placing him ahead of the last four administrations,” the two Republican leaders noted in a report issued Thursday.

At this point in his presidency, President Obama had signed off on 24 bills. President George W. Bush signed 15, President Clinton 33 bills and President George H.W. Bush 35.

The two leaders had other news of interest to voters weary of a do-nothing Capitol Hill.

“The Republican-led House has passed 158 bills, making it the most productive in the modern-era,” the pair said in their report, noting that during the equivalent passage of time in the Obama administration, the House passed 131 bills.

The lawmakers had passed 67 bills at this point during the George W. Bush era, 60 during Mr. Clinton’s time in office and 41 during the George H.W. Bush administration. Mr. McCarthy says it’s “record Congressional productivity to date.”

    Whoop-de-doo!

The question is, so what? When you look at who's crowing about this, you have to wonder what kind of bills they were. They might not have been bad. I doubt Trump would have agreed to bad ones. But what about important ones? Repeal? Wall? Stopping/reducing immigration? Cutting H1B visas that rob people of jobs? IRS reform? Reduction of the size of bureaucracy? A budget? Cutting spending? Getting rid of the IRS code and replacing it with a new one that doesn't need a PHD, 35 accountants and a city full of lawyers to understand?

The only thing I can name for sure they did was changing some of the unmitigatedly stupid Dodd-Frank which continues to suppress the economy. But that was reported by the "news" so it's hard to say if it did much. And it amounted to tinkering around the edges from what I heard (meaning it can be changed back next time the commies are in charge).

What else? There were 37 of them, so name a few of the other 36.

Trump has done more worthwhile stuff through XOs than anything I can name the Congress doing to date. So I don't know who the RINOs think they're fooling. They believe they can add Trump's name to their crowing and we won't notice that it was mostly unimportant junk.

As usual they count quantity, not quality. They passed more bills, not useful ones.

I still say we need to start hunting parties (poltically-speaking) to make RINOs an endangered or extinct species next year.
